I can barely believe it’s already been a week since the launch of Little Things Forever. It’s been a hive of activity with both ups and downs. I was very disappointed to find the game crashing on iPod touch 4th Generations, but managed to expedite an update. Since then people all around the world have been leaving great reviews for Little Things Forever!
We also did a limited sale for the original Little Things, dropping the price to FREE for the first time. We got a great reception and saw thousands of downloads and Little Things returned to the charts across the world. Hopefully all these new players will also enjoy Little Things Forever.
There has also been a lot of press coverage and great reviews of Little Things!
First review was from Gamezebo who gave Little Things Forever a 5/5! Thanks to Eli for the write up.
AppSpy was also a 5/5! They’re a video review site (if you haven’t already visited them), so be sure to stop by their site to watch the review.
Julie from AppAdvice‘s write up is here.
AppAddict gave us 4/5.
Jay Is Games‘ John B gave us a great review. Thanks John!
Slide To Play also gave us 4 out of 5.
And 148Apps also gave us a great write up and 4.5/5!
Also, AppTudes had a 4/5 for us also.
As you know Little Things Forever has been localized into 11 (soon to be 12) languages, and we’ve been getting reviews from around the world.
Stromstock‘s 4 star review is here. While AppsJP gave us a score of 82/100.
App Gemeinde awarded us with 5.5/6 and even assisted us to clean up the German localization. Thanks Tobi!
The first review of ZONR has appeared on the internet, and it’s a perfect score! Gamezebo awarded ZONR a 5/5 noting that it’s the epitome of what a mobile game should be.
Here’s an excerpt from the review: “ZONR is a rare treat. It’s a game so intuitive that it doesn’t even require instructions, yet so challenging that you’ll find yourself cursing out loud at your inability to do the one simple task it asks of you. It’s colourful, fast-paced, perfect for quick gameplay bursts, and nearly impossible to put down. Oh – and did we mention it’s free?”

After a much longer development period that originally intended, ZONR has just been submitted to Apple for review. Development on ZONR began on the 2nd of August 2011 and completed on the 1st of November. If you’re interested in more about the day to day development you can read my developer diary on Gamezebo here.
The extra time put into making the game look, sound and play great has paid off and I can’t wait until you all can play it!

Matthew Hall was recently contacted by Gamezebo to contribute to an interesting and unusual article.
In case you all haven’t heard Robert Nay, an 8th Grader, managed to top the charts with his game Bubble Ball. Jim Squires from Gamezebo contacted a group of prominent developers asking for advice for his future!
“The particular piece of advice I gave is one I actually learnt from an employee of Valve.” says Matthew. “They bring in new testers regularly to test their games, while the developers watch behind glass. It can be quite cringeworthy seeing people stuck again and again, but clearly reveals flaws in their games – and the system works! Even though I’m just a one-man-band studio, this kind of end user testing has been very beneficial to the development of my own games.”

Matthew Hall was recently interviewed by Jim Squires of Gamezebo to discuss Hidden Object games on the iPhone.
As well as covering concerns about the popularity and future of the genre, Matthew also discusses the inspiration and early development of Super Search 60.
“After the launch of Little Things, I became interested in iPhone as the App Store was maturing. But the screen resolution was so different. Accessibility and legibility was important to me. I’d been playing a lot of Bejeweled Blitz on the iPhone and suddenly had the idea of blending the two genres. I loved the idea of a game that is over so quickly so players can fill up the spare time they have throughout the day.”

Doodle Find has received four fantastic reviews from some of our favorite sites! AppSafari.com, AppAddict.net, AppSmile.com and Gamezebo.com all received early copies of the game and have posted their reviews in advance of the game’s launch.
AppSmile wrote that “We fell in love with Doodle Find’s art right away. The object designs are cute and endearing – especially the owls and penguins!” and also “We are having great fun with Doodle Find as it bests Super Search 60 in every way. It’s not hard to find 5-Dimples of value in this app.”
AppSafari tells us that “Having played both Super Search 60 and Doodle Find many times, I can say that Doodle Find is an across the board improvement on an already fabulous game. I have no doubt that this is going to be a massively popular game, so keep an eye out. Doodle Find is one of the best hidden object games I’ve played on the iPhone, which makes it doubly impressive that it is going to be 100% free. Believe me when I say that there’s really no downside here, just a seriously fantastic free app from a top-notch indie developer.”
AppAddict says “KlickTock has been able to once again find that wining combination of simplicity, creativity, entertainment and addictive “one-more-time†gameplay. Even if this game were not free, I would STILL highly recommend checking it out. Remember to grab your free copy this Saturday when the game releases.”
Gamezebo’s thoughts “A hidden object experience custom made for the iPhone. Great art style and fun gameplay.”
Thanks so much for the kind reviews!
